Well it’s now 14 years since Dave departed on 2nd February 1999. It was gratifying to read plenty of messages on the forum and also on the Facebook page to mark this significant date. Some of us choose to ignore it and wait instead for his birthday on 17th but it can’t be denied that February brings it all home for us. Many people around the world are dragging out their Triffids records and Dave’s songs are being heard by some folk for the very first time. It’s also a timely reminder to me to dust off some old tapes and boxes of photos and add some new content to this site. So – if you check the audio pages you’ll see some new tracks appearing, firstly the rest of the songs from the Effenaar show 1985 kindly sent to me by Carlos Van Hijfte. I’ll get that whole show up in the next week or so. Hope you enjoy it.
Make it your special project to turn someone on to The Triffids in February.

Some new audio for you. I have posted the first part of a live show (I think it’s the Shaftesbury Hotel in 1982 or 1983 but if anyone knows for certain get in touch). The recording is pretty good and the show was sold on a cassette on the Lock Up Your Cats tour. The […]
An interview conducted mostly by Pat Monaghan with Dave, Marty, Alsy and Rob in what must have been a hot smelly Happy Wheels parked outside the Shaftesbury Hotel in early January 1983. It really gives a great insight into a pivotal point in the existence of The Triffids.
