Every morning I search my pockets
To find out where I've been
I shake the sand out of my clothes
Watch the sun break through the trees
I don't know where I woke today
It don't make no-how to me anyway
I've got something that you want
Why don't you give something to me?

Say I meet you down at the crossroads
Make it 'bout quarter to nine
I'll do all the things that you wanted
Just don't look too close in my eyes
I don't know where I'll sleep tonight
And I don't know where I'll rise
You've got something that I want
And I'm prepared to pay the price

So I can see, I can see now
All I want right in front of me

I can see it's just one mile further
It looks like I'm almost home
I swear I can see the faces
Of all those I know as my own
Each morning I search my pockets
To find out where I've been
It looks like I'm bound for falling
But I'm ready to begin
Yes I am so much stronger
And I'm ready to begin
