The ultimate list, I would say, apparantly selected by 90 leading international critics.
The good thing is: The Triffids made the list, and a bunch of other great records too.

Here they are:

Any list implying that you don't need to hear BSD before you die is a crime.

I've heard all of them apart from System Of A Down's first album. Does that mean I need to be careful about what friends put on at dinner parties if I don't want to collapse face first into the soup course?

Hang on again - you go to dinner parties where someone might play System of a Down?

Prog-metal goes down very well after the hors d'ouevres.

But during the soup?  Angry

By the sounds of it lonesome, he possesses one of the 1001 record collections you should steal before you die.

You're right of course. I can relax now...

I'm afraid my record collection is nothing like that list but a mixture of 60s and 80s pop, 70s prog and punk and 90s dance. The 00s part so far is a directionless mish mash.

Mmmmmmm.  Directionless.

I had a look at that list, and you know, it isn't half bad.  Anything that can stretch to include Slayer and Sheryl Crow (neither of whom I have any real time for) is pleasingly diverse.

I am a little more suspicious of the recent vintage.  Limp Bizkit managed to crawl in, which is deeply alarming..

Limp Bizkit are a bit of an aberration though. The only other one that stands out in the 00s selection as complete chancers, to my prejudiced eye, is The Thrills album.
