I found & downloaded a bunch of Trffids' videos from soulseek, and was just wondering how many music videos there actually are....?

So far I've seen:

-Red Pony
-Wide Open Road
-Bury Me Deep In Love
-Goodbye Little Boy (This one's easily the best of the bunch!  Smiley  )

And this is the first time I remember seeing them, probably didn't get much airtime on MTV at least...

promo videos were also made for;
spanish blue
bad timing
trick of the light
raining pleasure[I think]
setting you free
a curse on you[BES]
There was discussion about this and other live and tv stuff  on the triffids egroup list last year. Before the advent of this forum that was the main conduit for the nostalgic ramblings of dave-O-philes around the world

Any chance that these will see the light of day on the forum? That would be great!

if the reissues of the albums on cd are to go ahead, a dvd to tie in with the lot would be a rather good idea i think!
only if it was good of course(!), perhaps the promo videos, some interviews and a filmed concert - perfect!
that's if all's available of course...

A Triffids-dvd would be wonderful. Did they ever release a video, or were any of their concerts televised?

That's a pretty "off the wall" comment from weasel, but there is a version of the song in question which closes the BES covers album Dedicated To The Ones We Love so maybe this is an allusion to that.

No Rob and Marty actually appeared in the Tina Turner video. Something to do with our publicist I think. They were members of the "band". A very good question for the Triffids trivia night.

I hope they played "River Deep Mountain High" whilst they had the chance. Too good to be true. Where is Exhibit A? Anyone a big Tina Turner fan? My wife's quite keen, but that doesn't extend to a video collection.

Having spent an unhealthy amount of time in the discography pages today, I can report that the full video list seems to be:

The Triffids:
Bad Timing
Red Pony
Beautiful Waste
Raining Pleasure
Wide Open Road
Bury Me Deep In Love
Trick Of The Light
Goodbye Little Boy

Blackeyed Susans:
Enemy Mine

David McComb:
Setting You Free
Clear Out My Mind

And I haven't set eyes on a single one of them.

Any chance that there could be a special Triffids edition of Rage to tie in with the re-releases?

There's also one for Spanish Blue, which is quite good.
Don't know if there are any others than the ones you've mentioned.
And why was there a promotional film for Red Pony when it was never released as a single??
