I had a copy of this also. I always thought it was the last gig The Triffids played at the Governor Broome (birthplace of the Perth punk music), however it was not.
As you can see from the gig list it was only that they having  a 2 month break before returning.

Don't think we saw this side of the band in the UK, but The Triffids must have played even more farewell gigs than John Farnham.
This could be heaven; shallow spreads of ordered lawns.

Here is a clipping from the NME advertising a gig at the "Klub Foot"
which appears to be The Clarendon Hotel Ballroom.
My sister in law Kathryn Roberts who was living in London at the time sent me the clipping.

Was the 18 March  1988 show not at Easts as well (see 1989 show in Brisbane)? My memory might be merging the two though. All that beer.

I clearly remember standing on top of a  cigarette machine at the 88 show though - it was the only way I could see over the tall people.

(Random memory: the Exchange 1984. Snuck out of boarding school to go. Was caught coming back in. Ended up being suspended for two weeks. Bonus.)

Gig poster on ebay for $55.
Triffids at the Alibi Club with gokids.
"Original 1982 flyer for a short lived venue in Newtown in Sydneys inner west.

The Most (who evolved into the Lime Spiders) playing every Tuesday

The Triffids supporting The Go kids (fellow Perth band who included Peter Simpson later of Spectres Revenge + Dubrovniks)

The Scientists and great rockabilly combo Crackerjacks."

No idea if it's still possible to edit Adam's original master list and add a more accurate date, but I just spotted a poster for what seems to have been the first Triffids gig, over here. Posted by Glee, naturally enough.

Now, is there anyone out there who can tell me anything about the next few Triffids gigs? From what I understand, the gigs 2-5 were all at a place called The Stoned Crow in North Fremantle, roughly 4km south of Peppermint Grove. At some point later the place was renamed as Mojo's, and is still going strong. According to Adam's list, there were 13 there in total, but all in the early years.

Actually quite important that I get to the bottom of this, but I can't tell you why just yet. Thanks. Any info you have on the venue would be appreciated, too. Feel free to send a pm.
