Love Of Will
« on: August 31, 2010, 04:23:55 AM »
Now that the wonderful boxset has been given a few spins and discussion died down, I though I would re-ask something that has been mentioned a number of times before and Glee mentioned will happen at some point.

So, any progress info on the Love Of Will reissue?  ???

No fresh news on this...sorry. All I can say is that there has been some progress but there's nothing definite I can tell you regarding a release right now.

As you've awarded yourself a cowrite for 'Trick of the light',
which is not undeserved, I guess you'll be giving up the
cowrite for 'Lover Sister' which Dave awarded you to make
up for it. That WAS the agreement, was it not?

Didn't ask for or self award either of those. If pressed I'd say the A Trick Of The Light one makes most sense as I did come up with the chords for middle 8, something agreed at the time.

If that's the case why are you not credited on Calenture?

By the way, it might seem pedantic but the song is called
" Trick of the light'. Dave was particularly nit picking about
these things. So who DID award you the credit?
Was it during a seance?. Tell us all about it.

Will, have you really got no idea how bad you're making yourself look?

Then again, I suppose that if you get a really sharp lawyer you might be able to argue that Graham is effectively libelling you by leaving your foul ramblings where you post them, instead of immediately deleting them all.

I think Will has come to the same conclusion as so many other people* that the internet was created purely to be filled up with shite.

Actually I thought it was a way for people to access porn.
The way folks who don't even own a dictionary suddenly
became fascinated by how much they could learn seemed
odd.
I don't know you or your best friend so I't be a bit
presumptuous of me to express opinions about people
and situations of which I was completely ignorant.
Incidentally isn't it verboten to name people?

I've never met you, Dave or Gazza and I've met Graham briefly once. I have no idea of the rightness or wrongness of your claims. The only opinion I was expressing was that this internet forum isn't the platform to handle gripes like yours and that many forums like this one are full of embarrassing flame wars between two people throwing their toys out of the pram in front of an audience.

Well for starters; I am NOT in show business, I'm not a
public figure nor an elected official. If you must refer to me
'this guy' or Max will do. We aren't acquainted, I'm a private
citizen so don't go using my christian name as if I'm some
vapid celebrity while you hide behind an alias.
Secondly I don't feel hysterical nor is the question impertinent.
If Graham doesn't know how he got a sudden credit yet
is the 'executor of songs' I'm puzzled.
I certainly don't want to disturb this Algonquin Round Table.

Will, you might not be an elected official or a celebrity, but it's disingenuous to claim that you're a private citizen when you're posting here. For better or worse that's obviously going to depend on personal viewpoint you're a significant part of the Triffids/McComb story. And you regularly allude to the fact. In my opinion, people have a right to know who you are so they can make their own judgments about what you say based on an understanding of where you fit in.

Even so, as far as I can remember I've never addressed you by your full name, so your identity being uncovered from my posts depends on others wanting to know. Using your Christian name is merely a pointer.

Anyway, given your history of disappearing and then reappearing with a new name, it's a bit rich for you to complain about others hiding behind an alias. Though plenty of us here are using one, anyone who has been posting here for a while would be able to find out who we are without too much bother.

Just for the record, I'm with Eke in feeling that if you want to pursue the issues you've raised in this thread (and a fair few others) it would be better for everyone if you did it by other means.

Apologies for using your Christian name without permission Max but, just so as you know, I don't hide behind an alias.

There is no sudden credit. I have been listed as writer of a small part of A Trick Of The Light (I think this is the correct title for publishing purposes, there's song by The Who called Trick Of The Light as I understand). Dave gave me the credit at the time and it has been on all publishing contracts since the song first appeared on Calenture whether it's actually credited on the album art or not. There is no mystery. I am not the executor of Dave's estate or songs. I cannot and would not make any changes to official publishing details after the fact.
