Wow. That's a little surprising as I thought the Tindersticks were on their own tour at the same time - I'm going to see 'em at Manchester Cathedral (a novel venue also hosting Magnetic Fields and Cocorosie in the same concert series!) just a couple of weeks before and I think that's an early date in their full Euro extravaganza.

I'd imagine Mr Staples would do some of Dave's songs well and look forward to seeing it :).

John McComb is unlikely unfortunately and Lightspeed Champion also unlikely for Hasselt. In a week or so I should be able to give you an accurate guest list for all shows. There are further guests yet to be announced for all shows.

Isn't a sense of mystery and playing the guessing game fun?

Leonard Cohen's got a bad back* (and had to cancel his own Euro tour this Spring) so I guess he won't be in attendance ;)

Have you had time to polish and tune your banjo** yet?

*a "sporting injury" apparently. no innuendo intended, but how does a 75 year old man suffer a sporting injury? I can only envisage (a) a yogic manoevre gone wrong or (b) one hop, skip and jump too many.
**no innuendo intended

The mystery is at its most complete in my mind. Guessing games indeed. One thing I will say with a distinct lack of mystery - no matter who the guests are at the show or shows that you attend the stars of the show will be the songs.

I've got a lot to do between now and the 16th of April but I am thoroughly looking forward to the Hasselt shows. Not least because this time I'm staying for both!

Have been priming Mrs M with the DVD and the Best Of so she won't turn up in complete ignorance.

I've been able to glean a few names who are going (genkboy, lonesome, urpal) - are there many otehr veterans of the 1st Hasselt shows returning this time?

Do you plan to stay for the whole weekend? I'd suggest there will be a very good reason to stick around for Sunday, if you can.
