In which case, mine's half a pint! Smiley

Touch wood the recession is on its way out (judging by the work levels in my neighbourhood of the moment), in which case it's a crate of trappist's finest brews Wink What was the name of that rare beer from somewhere near Bruges that young KrieB was advertising at one time? And, by the way, where the KrieB is KrieB in all this excitement?

Anyway, very much looking forward to another Triffest. That four years has flown by.

Can any of the locals describe the Hasselt venue? Got an email today (in Flemish, I think) about the April shows and it talks about:

LOCATIE: Open Circuit - Pand 'Koloniale Waren', Koningin Astridlaan 85, 3500 Hasselt

Is it an open air show?

Can any of the locals describe the Hasselt venue? Got an email today (in Flemish, I think) about the April shows and it talks about: LOCATIE: Open Circuit - Pand 'Koloniale Waren', Koningin Astridlaan 85, 3500 Hasselt. Is it an open air show?

Although I would never consider to describe myself as a Hasselt local Grin: the Open Circuit is the name of "an international production platform" and "een pand" is one of the Dutch words for a building. The Pand Koloniale Waren seems to be located next to the venue where An Evening with The Triffids took place in June 2006.

So no panic, Mike_M! ... Unless you were really looking forward to get an open air show in Hasselt?

I'm glad to offer you my research services once again, Urpal - absolutely free of charge! Wink

What was the name of that beer that KrieB reckons is the best in the world?
I guess that would be Trappist Westvleteren 12 Degree, which is international beer specialist Michael Jackson's best beer in the world. Cheers (if you ever get urhands on it)!

The venue is bigger than 2006 and I thought it was next door to the house we stayed in back then but I could be wrong. Anyway I'm sure it's a fine venue.

Thanks, lonesome and glee. I definitely would prefer indoors! Wasn't sure that pand was a park or something.

It's definitely not the hole in the road??  That was next doors ...  Smiley

Now need to negotiate with Mrs_M about a weekend away.

Yes...happy new year everybody, have had a day of it so far and wouldn't mind if the rest of 2010 was as pleasant as it has been to this point. Looking forward to catching up with a few of you in April.

The new years day cricket match Steiglitz vs the rest of the world was a tie, 90 runs each. Living in Balliang (pop 227) I now qualify as 'local' enough to play for the home team, apparently - not sure that it helped that much. Happy new year Smiley.

Wish I could make it three scots, but I'm heading to Primavera in May so it's kind of out of the question.
