On the eve of the 10th anniversary of David's death, the Triffids dedicated their brilliant 40 minute support slot for Leonard Cohen at Centennial vinyards to his memory.

They played 9 songs: Too Hot to Move; Trick of the Light; The Seabirds; Lonely Stretch; Raining Pleasure; Goodbye Little Boy; Unmade Love; Stolen Property and Wide Open Road. The four singers (Graham, Mick Harvey, Jill and Steve Kilby) all did great - especially Steve Kilby who sang with much emotion and great timbre. The setting was magnificent in a natural amphitheatre surounded by gum trees and vines - and it was a glorious summer evening. I just wish that they could have played for twice as long and more. Mick Harvey really adds a lot to the band.

Sadly (stupidly) I missed Sydney and Melbourne shows, so this was my first Tiffids gig since their last ever with David in Canberra almost 20 years ago.

And thanks to Alsy and Rob for taking the time for long friendly chats and signing my copy of In the Pines. Rob says they just need a promoter with faith and deep pockets and they could do a proper tour - so where are you??

Leonard was pretty awesome as well - he thanked the Triffids (David) for their cover on I'm Your Fan at a time in his life when he said he was dying.
