The Moffs

OK - I'm biased (but not in a good way).  Its a 2 CD collection.  I'm friends with them.  Went to school with the drummer, played in bands with him, and then met the rest of the band, gave them their first few big gigs and played with them on a couple of gigs.

I actually thought they were wonderful band the first year I saw them - very much a modern update on "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" Pink Floyd.  A wonder to behold as a live band in terms of the sounds they were making.  But very quickly it all became very introspective and prog-rock 70s - not my scene at all.   But the recently released 2 CD set actually sounds pretty good to me.  Its mixed up in tgerms of release dates and all the better for it.  Recommended.  See http://www.alternativemediagroup.com/ThreadView.aspx?tid=8873 and http://www.i94bar.com/reviews/moffs.html.

PS - the Triffids tie in (if one is needed) is that they supported the Triffids on a number of gigs.
