Welcome to the forum, Amy. There's tons of stuff here for you to discover (if you haven't already), including an interesting page with free audio files:

http://thetriffids.com/sitefiles/audio.shtml

In terms of recent developments, there's pocket camera footage of one song from the recent Festival of Sydney shows:

http://thetriffids.com/forum/index.php?topic=1487.msg30674#msg30674

Then there's a slideshow of photos from the Festival of Sydney shows:

And finally an excellent cover of the song Raining Pleasure:

Welcome aboard Amy. You'll find we're friendly folk here so no need to be concerned. We are from all over the place, which makes for interesting perspectives on the topics.

Hi Amy. Welcome. I like that photoshop portrait thingy.

I was looking at another photo of The Triffids the other day by Bleddyn Butcher. It shows the band sitting or standing around a stairway in a rundown basement. All the different band members faces are expressive in some way or other. Dave looks very serious and intense. Your pic captures a similar intensity.

I'll see if I can find the pic I'm referring to.

Assuming you know the photo I'm referring to, glee, do you remember where it was taken and when? I recognise Dave's Polka Dot shirt from The Tube performance so guess it would have been about then (or maybe just a longstanding fave shirt).

The shot Amy has photoshopped is a Bleddyn photo (thanks and welcome Amy), pretty sure it currently resides on the wall at Handsome Steve's House Of Refreshment. The one you're thinking of urpal is from 87 or so, perhaps '86 and the venue is Bleddyn Butcher's house which never really resembled a run down basement though some of the places we lived in fitted that description.

Whoops! :-[ OK, maybe it wasn't so much rundown as had a bit of peeling polystyrene ceiling tile where the ceiling joined the stairs. And probably peeled back in a vain attempt to remove the tacky and dated inherited decor.

I'll quit digging before I get any deeper.....

Great photo, Bleddyn, if that's any compensation for describing your place as a hovel :)

Turning offence into flattery, the "dingy" feel of the picture may be down to camera aperture skills etc

After being photoshopped, I think Dave looks like he's been recruited into Split Enz and is not entirely happy about it.

Welcome Amy! Although I must admit you nearly had me fooled: for a moment I thought that the topic "new person alert" meant that one of the members of these forums had become mum or dad (again) :D
