Until Graham finds a way to make it possible for guests to vote, the only thing you could do is log in under a different name, I suppose.
Make your wife a member and you will have it sorted out.

Maybe wife, fictional children, grandchildren, uncles, aunties, first cousins twice removed etc:) Good idea - that should boost the voting numbers and ensure a just result:)

All Triffids-singles are now listed, including the classic Field of Glass which (I agree, Urpal) really should have been included in the first place.

Good move, Johan. I've now edited the poll so that members have two votes. Anyone who voted accidentally before or who would now like to bestow favour on a new entry can do so.

On FoG, the vinyl single reproduction seems a lot "muddier" to me than the original radio broadcast of the song. Maybe the length of the song (several minutes - the sort of duration only bands like the Doors and VU could occasionally get away with) and limitations of vinyl meant even 12 inches couldn't do it justice without some sonic trimming. Hopefully, the wonders of modern technology will set the record straight on that one. I look forward to hearing the song in it's full dynamic glory - the epic rollercoaster which first drew me into the lair.

Well, I think if you have voted already, you cannot vote again. At least I can't.
I agree that Field of Glass sounds a bit muddy at times. I wonder why it was never made available on a triffids album. It is such an epic track. It will be the jewel in the crown of the re-releases I suspect.

It seems to me you can't introduce extra candidates mid polling day without taking a re-count. In any case, like a traditional Florida election, the first election was flawed by the then available technology.

I expect available space may have been a factor in the neglect - the song would have taken up a good stretch of one side of a vinyl LP.

There has also been the suggestion somewhere of a legendary loss of master tapes, but these masters seem to get lost incredibly easily - didn't Ian McCullough lose a complete album he did with Johnny Marr before kissing and making up with Serge Willsbourg?

Does anyone have the Bad Timing and other Stories EP? I have never heard the song, although I have once heard an mp3 of Left to Rot. Are the other songs any good?

I'm kind of surprised Field of Glass is doing so well. It's a great song, but at 9 minutes plus a bit too long for a single, methinks.
This poll has gotten the least votes of all polls, so If you haven't voted yet, you have 2 votes for the Best Triffids singles, ever!

Field of Glass is the B-side of the EP. I would go for monkey on my back, which is on the A-side

Good to see you voted anyway Smiley
Field of Glass was the name of the EP so I think it deserves its inclusion in this poll. Why it wasn't on the A-side is anybody's guess

Comment for our newest member, genkboy: Good to see you voted anyway.

Hey Johan, is there a way to see who has voted and who not then? All in the interest of The Best Name For A Triffids Cover Band poll of course, what did you expect! Cheesy

Comment for our newest member, genkboy: I'm a Bruges Boy myself, but hey, only got one life and it's shrinking every day, so let's do a virtual handshake-of-the-friends, shall we? Or does your nickname not relate to football at all?
